Aggieland
Pregnancy Outreach was created to provide support services to
women experiencing unplanned pregnancies. These
services are also extended to the birthfathers and are provided
free of charge at all times. After viewing the services offered
by APO, we recommend that you view I'm

Counseling Services
-
We
will meet with you one on one to provide guidance as you work
through pregnancy related issues.
-
We will help you find a professional counselor, if you are in
need, to help with problems that might not be related to your
pregnancy.
We
regret that APO is not financially capable of
paying the medical costs for those who
choose to parent their baby.
-
If you have no source of transportation, APO’s Transportation
Volunteers can take you to doctors appointments, dental appointments,
support group meetings, etc. You must give our Transportation Coordinator
one week’s notice before you need the ride.
-
We
provide counseling and literature about adoption
to teach you how adoption plans work. Our desire is to help you
make an informed choice as you plan for your child's future.
-
If you want to make a plan of adoption for your child, we will
guide you through the entire adoption process. APO offers “Open
Adoption” which allows you to choose the adoptive family that
seems right to you. You will be allowed to view the Life Books of
our adoptive families. You may choose to meet some of the families
before you make a final decision. You may choose to maintain contact
with your child and the adoptive family through the years if you
want.
-
Just
talking about adoption does not legally obligate you to follow through
with an adoption plan. You are not bound by any law until after
you sign legal papers which terminate your parental rights. Texas
state law will not allow you to sign those papers until the baby
is at least 48 hours old.
-
After
your child has been placed with the adoptive family, APO remains
part of your support system. You are encouraged to attend support
group as often as you want, and to come for individual counseling
as you walk through the next phase of the adoption process.
